To become an Isle of Man TT marshal in 2026, you must register on the & complete two mandatory online training modules. New marshals must be at least 16 years old, reasonably fit, and will be paired with experienced crew for training. After three sessions, you must complete a 1-day Incident Management Course.
Steps to Become a TT Marshal

Register: Sign up at the Isle of Man TT Marshals website.

Online Training: Complete the two required online training modules covering flagging, radio usage, and safety.

Sign On: Approximately two months before the event, sign on via the website for specific race sessions.

Gear and Allocation: Receive your marshalling pack (tabbard, ID) and, as a novice, you will be assigned to a sector with experienced volunteers.

Required Training: Complete the 1-day Incident Management Course (IMC) after your first three sessions.

Age: Minimum 16 years old (those aged 16-18 require parental consent).

Commitment: You do not have to do every session, but you must stay for the full duration of any session you sign up for.

Physical Fitness: A reasonable level of fitness is required.
Marshalling is voluntary, and you can choose which part of the 37.73-mile course you work on.
